Why we focus on sustainable finance rather than climate finance
We previously called this strand climate finance but have recently expanded it to sustainable finance because climate finance is for environmental issues, and organisations often need to address more than that, such as training employees or dealing with governance issues.
Sustainable finance covers everything to do with sustainability, across all three pillars. That includes economic issues such as corruption and taxes, environmental issues, and social issues such as training and data protection.
Why sustainable finance matters
Costing tells you what a change will cost and what it will return and finance is what allows you to make that change. With a properly costed case, you can show a lender the current problem, the cost of fixing it and how much better off you will be, so the lender can see that the project makes financial sense.
Who this service is for
Our services are designed for organisations. Individuals are welcome to attend our training, but the organisations we work with most closely include:

We help you approach sustainable finance through the bank system. Our aim is to know which banks offer which type of finance and at what rate, so that once your case is costed we can link you with a suitable lender.

How we deliver sustainable finance training
We offer two sustainable finance courses, and each can be delivered in person, remotely or online:
- Financing Sustainability: A Boardroom Perspective, for the board of directors. Delivered in person or remotely over 4 hours, or online over 3 hours.
- Climate Finance in Practice: Mobilising Capital for Sustainability Projects, for senior managers. Delivered in person over 7 hours, remotely over 6 hours, or online over 5 hours.
Where sustainable finance sits on the highway
Sustainable finance is strand 04 of The Highway to Organisational Prosperity Through Sustainability. It follows Sustainability Costing and Appraisal, which builds the costed case you take to a lender. Once the finance is in place, the next step is Mesgiro, where you use it to make the change.
